What can one expect when the doyen of bridal fashions, Neeta Lulla, comes together with Lakme Salon services? The Lakme Salon Bridal show was an indepth coverage of 25 distinct looks, covering hairstyles, makeup and ensembles across core categories for the brand.
The setting for this show was created as a visit to the Lakme Salon for bridal appointments with the pallette reflecting pastels set against softer beauty looks, before transitioning towards more traditional looks. The symphony of multiple bridal looks began with a piece carried to the stage by Neeta Lulla’s daughter, designer Nishka Lulla. actress Tamanna Bhatia, who has been seen extensively in Telugu and Tamil cinema and was last seen in ‘Baahubali’, presented the showstopper garment.

The looks, with extensive expertise in hair, makeup and ensembles encompassed the journey that a soon-to-be wed bride makes from pre-parties to Sangeet, engagement to the big day. Five in number, these looks included Vintage (1920s and 1930s), Traditional wedding attire, Glam party looks, Sculpted evening looks and sensual, nature inspired pieces.

Vintage in style

Think of the flapper girls: Casually chic in long skirts; pair it with art deco themes. This is the inspiration that the stylists from Lakme tried to achieve in the segment. Victorian Blush, Classic allure and retro diva were the looks in muted peach to soft green, with hairstyles in crown chignons for a classic profile shot.
The colour pallette for the designs were slate grey to pastels in peach and cream.
Traditional in nature

Inspired by temple art, the true flavour for weddings was explored in three majestic looks: rooted beauty, princess royale and ethnic charm in rich colours like blood red, deep, naval blue and golden yellow. Models descended on the ramp with a gaited pace, with strong red lips and hair accessories with flowers.
Sculpted looks
Jaipur’s ornate arches and patterns inspired the ensembles by designer Neeta Lulla in the Sculpt segment. The look was largely defined eyebrows, sculpted faces, monochrome eyes and hairstyles in deep, flat waves.
Glamourous appeal
In the glam segment, the Lakme experts turned towards a bronze palette, supported by gold eyes and glitter dusted hair, with the matched golden metallic Swarvoski theme.
Nature’s appeal

Mother Nature was the cue for a sensuous, feminine vision on the ramp. Flora and fauna provided cues for motifs like leaves, flowers, peacock feathers and pearls in the makeup. A clear skin, neutral lips were balanced by flowing hair, giving it a very natural appeal.
In a release ahead of the event, Shailesh Moolya, National Creative Director, Hair at Lakmé Salons called the hairstyles edgy, but fuss free, with a sensuous edge that includes a range of elegant updos and loose curls.
